Our Pastoral Care
At The Khalsa Academy Wolverhampton, pastoral care is central to our mission and is delivered through a clear, structured 360° model that ensures every pupil is known, supported and challenged to succeed.
Each year group is supported by a dedicated Pastoral Manager, working closely with the Head of Year, who holds strategic oversight and accountability for standards, wellbeing, behaviour and progress within their year group. This ensures strong relationships, consistency and rapid response to concerns. Our pastoral structure is overseen by the Director of Pastoral, providing whole-school leadership, quality assurance and alignment across safeguarding, attendance, inclusion and behaviour.
Safeguarding underpins all pastoral work and is everyone’s responsibility. Robust systems, well-trained staff and strong partnerships with families and external agencies ensure pupils are safe, supported and able to learn.
Attendance and behaviour are treated as fundamental to success. As a DfE Attendance & Behaviour Hub, The Khalsa Academy Wolverhampton works at the forefront of national best practice, supporting other schools while maintaining high expectations, early intervention and personalised support for our own pupils.
Our pastoral team works in close partnership with teaching staff to remove barriers to learning, promote positive behaviour and create a calm, purposeful environment where all pupils can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Form time routine and expectations:
8.30 to 09:00
Meet and greet on threshold.
Check Lanyards and photo I.D
Check uniform (log any issues on Class charts)
Students stand behind chair until instructed to be sat.
Take register
Check Stationary
Speak to any students that were absent the day before
Check class charts

Year 7 Form tutors will meet their tutor groups outside at their line up point and walk their forms to their form room. Outside the following will take place for they are released to forms:
Uniform Checks.
Well-being checks.
Any issues from day before dealt with by HOY / PM.
Any whole group messages shared.
Passes checked / given out or updated.
