It’s Mr Shouker here, and it’s been a little while since we last connected. I hope you all had a restful and refreshing two-week half-term break. As soon as we returned, we jumped straight into a series of exciting events and activities that have truly energised our school community. One of the highlights was our Guru Tegh Bahadur Shahidi drop-down day. This special day was made possible thanks to the incredible support from several organisations, including the Sikh Warrior Project, Sikh Recovery Network, the University of Birmingham Sikh Society, and the Royal Navy, who also provided valuable fire safety sessions. We’re also grateful to Tie My Turban for helping us start the day on such a positive note. Many of you may have already seen the vibrant clips of our staff and students participating enthusiastically. In addition, Amnesty International, the University of Wolverhampton, and our own KAVI Sikh Society contributed to making this day a meaningful experience. Beyond the drop-down day, our students enjoyed outdoor adventures with trips to Stanley Head, offering them exciting opportunities to engage with nature and build teamwork skills. We also hosted our Year 10 and Year 12 parents’ evening, and I want to extend a big thank you to all the parents who attended. It was wonderful to hear positive feedback and to discuss the next steps for our students’ academic journeys. This week, we held a poignant Remembrance Service. It was an honour to have the Deputy Lord Lieutenant join us, and I must commend our cadets for their exemplary leadership during this important occasion. Their dedication truly made the service memorable. Looking further ahead, some of our sixth form students had the prestigious opportunity to visit Oxford University, gaining invaluable insight into life at one of the world’s most renowned institutions. We’re incredibly proud of them and excited about the doors this experience may open. On Friday, our Law Society is organising a non-uniform day to raise funds for the Hurricane Melissa Appeal. The recent hurricane in Jamaica has had devastating effects, and we are rallying our community to help by collecting non-perishable items, bedding, and clothing. Please bring any donations to reception by Friday the 21st so we can support those in need. Additionally, there’s a raffle underway supporting Wolverhampton Olympic FC, with fantastic prizes including a laptop and Amazon vouchers. Your participation and support mean a great deal to us and the causes we champion. That’s all for now. Thank you for staying connected and engaged. Wishing everyone an enjoyable week ahead, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
